STS Marines Solutions has conducted extensive research into numerous types of hose failures, in both Oil and LNG STS scenarios. We have invested considerable resources over the years in studying these failures, to be able identify where root causes lie.

Common themes occur where LNG hose failure is normally linked to operating process and procedures, whereas Oil STS hose failure is more commonly due to internal liner degradation.

The Trelleborg KLELINE hose comes with a higher manufacturing standard than most STS hoses, rated to GMPHOM 2009 rather than EN 1765. In addition to this, the hose comes with some very distinct advantages from other hoses in the industry, which we would be happy to discuss. It’s been our entrusted STS hose for a number of years.

STS hose testing services are available worldwide. We can accommodate all hose inspection and testing criteria, according to the manufacture’s recommendations.

Going above and beyond, with certain makes and manufacturers of STS marine hoses we have developed very specific inspection criteria due to years of our own operational knowledge, giving the best possible insight into the hoses condition.  We have conducted many studies into oil STS hose failures and found that an advanced inspection is hugely beneficial to predicting hose life and foreseeing a hose failure! A careful full internal liner inspection is always recommended alongside monitoring of the internal Shore “A” hardness of hose liners as we have found hardening of the internal liner, due to transferring modern oil products can directly correlate to increased failure risk with certain manufactures hoses!

Over the last several years STS Marine Solutions has built up unique experience in commissioning and maintaining LNG transfer kits from several manufacturers. Working closely with the transfer systems in the most challenging environments we have a wealth of experience in how best to set-up, commission, run and maintain these kits for optimum reliability.
